Granite is a material type that should only be used for primary sinks, and only if its the hardest of possible granites. They offer a unique organic look which is more rustic and less cold like the stainless steel options. You can also get sinks which are not 100% granite but instead include a composite material. This can make the sink less expensive. Granite sinks are generally considered to be the most durable and resistant to everyday scratches, denting and other common damages. They are also heat resistant to almost 550 degrees.
