Installing a Kitchen Sink

Regardless of the type of sink you choose to install in your kitchen, it still needs to be put in correctly to prevent leaking or breaking. Be sure to choose something that doesn't stain easily, is durable, resists denting, and complements a variety of decors so you don't have to keep replacing the sink each time you paint the walls. Sometime fairly neutral would be ideal. You can choose to install a framed or frameless sink. We have instructions for both.

Frameless Sink Installation:

  1. Cutout the countertop for the hole size matching the sink size.
  2. Lay the sink upside down across the counter
  3. Apply your sealing agent (glue or silicone caulk or putty) to the underside of the sink flange.
  4. Position the sink inside the hole cutout, you can easily hold it by the drain holes.
  5. Once lowered into position press down hard to help it seal tight, then wipe off any exess sealant that escapes.

Framed Sink Installation:

  1. Turn the sink frame upside down and apply the sealing agent around both sides of the verticle flange.
  2. Place the sink upside down inside the frame. Bend the frame's tabs to hold the sink. Set the sink in to the countertop cutout opening and hold tightly to tighten the seal.
  3. Hook the mounting clips every 6 to 8 inches around the frame on the underside of the countertop.
  4. Tighten the screws
  5. Wipe off the excess sealant
